So I have my 2013 Storm with a Raask 2-1 exhaust and no cat. Love the bike to death but - there is one issue with it. When I had the mandatory checkup last time it got an extra check for sound.

Legally, in Sweden, a bike is not allowed to be louder than 103dB, unless otherwise certified.

I believe I saw a piece of paper stating it is certified for .. 79? 89dB? Ie way less.

They measured mine and just managed to squeeze in at 100.3dB. Next time I might not be so lucky that it's below the limit, or they look into the papers.

So I would like to make it a little bit quieter if possible. I obviously would not be talking about something completely temporary, as in quieting it down and removing it straight after passing inspection, as that would probably be against some kind of law... I know, you all believe me, right? I see your heads all nodding, good, good..

One option is to switch back to the stock cat, exhaust and tune.

Another would be to muffle the sound somehow, but how?

Why I don't like the first option is that I have a big side bag on the other side that I would have to remove and I don't have smaller bags to put there instead.

Ideas?

This must be the next thing to do on my checklist for my bike.
